But the environment inside, the staff, and especially the food was amazing.

Neptune's Grill was recommended to me by a friend (that's questionable now) as a by the way along my travels up the coast from FL to NJ. I ordered a Greek chicken salad sandwich and my hubby the crab cakes. Granted my first mistake was probably ordering a chicken dish at what may be considered a seafood spot but it was on the menu and as I mentioned my husband order crab cakes and for the record they were equally as bad. I digress. After waiting a bit to be noticed by the waitress, she finally arrived at our table with menus, she took our drink order and left. Once the waitress arrived back to take our orders, I asked about specials and such. There were none. I pondered the menu, looked at the food being presented to tables and questioned the waitress about local specialties and local favorites. She was of little help and perhaps that should have been my first clue. The Greek chicken salad sandwich presentation, the sauce, and the service were all cause for stomach troubles so I sent it back. The presentation was unappetizing, the taste was a bit rancid and the staff was unapologetic. The waitress who appeared to be numb from the neck up said that she would have to check with the chef to see if he thought that I had a legitimate complaint about the special sauce/ingredients. Of course, the tasteless chefs opinion was that there was nothing wrong with the sauce so I could eat it or leave it or even order another horrific dish but there would be no refund for the sandwich. I repeated the nothings is wrong with the sandwich according to the chef so there will be no refund statement several times because I found this statement to be unacceptable for a which meal which I hardly touched except to taste the sauce. The waitress said that I could order something else but there would be no refund for the sandwich. HA! I laughed out loud, and said so now I would have to pay for two awful meals!! She offered me a free glass of wine as if this could or would satisfy me or my expectation. Needless to say I left Neptune's Grill disappointed, hungry and a few buck lighter.
and stellar food skip this one! It's an old corner bar which happens to serve food. It's a dive where there are no guarantees and refunds. If you order it, you'll pay for it whether you eat it or not because the chef, not the customer determines what is palatable at Neptune's Grill.
Food was actually pretty good, but the place is really more of a pub. Smoking outside near the outdoor seating wasn't cool. The dining area was very cold so we opted for outside. We had mussels, which were a good size and only one dud. Beer selection was limited, but had a local bottled beer, only 6 or 7 drafts, only fake micros like shock top.
Waited 70 mins from the time we sat down to get a pizza and a burger! Only one beer on tap. Hostess sat us in a cramped table that three other people were already sitting at. I guess sharing a table is the order of the day. No warning was offered about service delays.
A little tough around the edges. Feels a bit like you should be a regular if you even think about sitting at the bar. Food is always very good. Not inexpensive. Just moved into the neighborhood so hope to frequent more often. Maybe become that regular!
When we first pulled up the parking situation sucked. But all places in the city are like that so it is what it is.
One of the best experience with seafood I've had in a long time that wasn't in Boston.
This place was awesome, great COD and the Mac and cheese is insane. Highly highly recommend.

The food was fine. Its a corner bar, , so I didn't have great expectations. Given the poor service, this place is hard to recommend.
If you are in Chesapeake Bay and are looking for really good seafood in a non snobby ass setting, then this is the place for you.
